Klayar, an awesome beach - Visit Pacitan, East Java

Arisarmu - Pacitan Regency has some fabulous beaches, making it the perfect place to spend a holiday for beach lovers. While Klayar is the most well known and the most popular beach in this Regency.

Pacitan Regency is located on the southwestern of East Java Province which bordered with Trenggalek Regency, Ponorogo Regency and Wonogiri Regency. And Klayar beach is merely a sixty five-minute drive (37 km) from the town of Pacitan. If you are from Surakarta, it takes you around two and a half hours drive (99 km), while from Yogyakarta city is just a bit farther (102 km).

With a long coastline and some unique shaped giant corals and a sea water fountain with flute sound, make Klayar beach so breathtaking that visitors will probably want to go here again once they first experience it.
The sea water fountain happens when there is a strong current of wave hit a big coral and enter into the crevice gap then it will spray upward with the sound of a flute.

When I got to the beach, the beauty of Klayar beach was beyond my expectation. What I saw it by myself was more gorgeous than I read it from the internet as well as I heard it from a friend of mine. And during peak holiday seasons, the beach usually gets very crowded although isn's as crowded as beaches in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. Thereby you can still enjoy your vacation here, but swimming is prohibited here as the currents are strong and dangerous.

If you have done ATV before and want to experience it along Klayar beach with its absolutely beautiful view, you can do it at the fare with a staff as a rider is IDR 50k (USD 3.60) or ride it by yourself that will be charged more expensive IDR 75k (USD 5.40). You can ride it as long as you want, said a staff to me.

Before leaving the beach, I spent a little time to hike up a hill nearby to see views from up there, especially the famed sea water fountain. Since no one was allowed to approach it because it could endanger his life. And from the top of the hill I could see the sea water fountain although it wasn't high because of the less strong currents. But according to a seller woman where I had lunch at her stall, I could have seen it higher if I had stayed till 3 pm.
