Iced Sugar Cane Juice, "Es Sari Tebu", an option drink for travellers

A refreshing Asian beverage which is  commonly sold by street vendors is a nice drink to accompany your time while you are enjoying a memorable moment at an impressive journey toward or at a tourist attraction.

Sugar cane, which is native to tropical countries including Indonesia, belongs to the grass family used for sugar production and the plant can grow from two to six meters tall.
Still fresh in my memory, when I was a kid, I used to grow this plant in our small back yard in a lovely city Purwokerto where I was born and spent my memorable childhood and teenage life.

See my previous blog posts about tourism in Purwokerto:

As we know that sugar cane is the main ingredient to make sugar and many believe consume its juice will give benefit to our body and of course if we drink it in a proper portion, not over drink.
Green sugar cane is commonly used and it's considered the best to make "Es Sari Tebu" or most Indonesians call it "Es Tebu", as the skin isn't too hard and it has more juice as well.

The phenomenon of "Es Tebu" on Jalan By Pass Mojokerto, a main road to connect two cities in East Java, Mojokerto and Surabaya, ever became viral in social media last year , it caused by a marketing strategy of charming young women sellers who to be said attract many travelers passing the road to stop and buy it. The method truly increased sale of their beverage, and it would rise double during holiday.

Although having strong competitors from fellow local drinks, however its popularity does't descend.
The delicious of pure "Es Tebu" is very typical of sugar cane that can not be replaced by other drinks.
