Nasi Pecel Pincuk (Indonesian salad) Nanggulan-Salatiga

For you who are free on weekend and desire to have "Pecel" as your breakfast.  I recommend you to have Nasi Pecel Pincuk Nanggulan.

Nasi Pecel Pincuk Nanggulan, a moveable food stall, located in the complex of "Taman Tingkir" Salatiga, owned by "Bu Susi", sells nasi pecel in her car. It opens at limited times, only on saturday and sunday from 7 am to 10 am. She serves nasi pecel on a "pincuk", a plate woven bamboo covered by food wrapping paper (traditionally on a banana leaf).
The price of one portion with "bakwan jagung" (vegetable and corn fritter) is at IDR 6,000. It will be a different price when we add it with a fried egg.

Pecel is one of traditional Indonesian salads, and it has been strongly associated with Javanese cuisine. Pecel consists of boiled or blanched vegetables, such as bean sprouts, spinach, cabbage and string bean in a sweet peanut sauce. The proper blend of palm sugar, chili and peanut is a great importance to gain a perfect taste of the dressing. On the contrary, pecel will lose its best taste if it is too sweet, because of too much palm sugar in the mixture. I think Nasi Pecel Pincuk Nanggulan is delicious, and we can have it with "lontong" (rice cake)  instead of steamed rice and with additional side dishes, such as bakwan jagung (vegetable and corn fritters), fried tempe (soy bean cake) or fried egg.

Hope Nasi Pecel Pincuk Nanggulan could be your breakfast option,  and thank you for stopping by in my blog.
