Sepanjang Beach

Enjoy a stroll along the longest beach in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta during holiday is truly breathtaking. Here, one of the best beaches in this area, you can get away from your daily routine and gaze spectacular coastal views and fine sand.

The peaceful Sepanjang beach, Although it is less popular than other beaches in Gunungkidul for it is newly opened by the local government, so when i came here it wasn't crowded, offers you with its clean water and also a great place for strolling along its vast beach, splashing around, sun bathing, making a sand castle even you can play football with your kids.

On the edge of the beach there is a row of food stalls with bamboo huts, non permanent buildings which look simple boost the image of this beach as a natural beach, facing to the beach. So, if you are not in a hurry, for the huts provide the best viewing spot among the other beaches, you should spend more time here having some foods and drinks while viewing the stunning Sepanjang beach.

Drini Beach

Drini Beach, commonly known as a two-faced beach, lies in Ngestirejo Village, Tanjungsari Sub-district, Gunungkidul Regency, which is only 8 minutes drive from Krakal beach is truly a gateway to enter a vibrant holiday with your family for the light brown sandy beach, with some water sports challenge, such as canoeing and swimming, offers both relaxing and fascinating experience.

Drini beach, a name derived from an isle, "Drini", which is a home of some drini trees, separate the beach into two parts. If you are facing toward the small island Drini, where you can climb up there to see beautiful sceneries of Drini beach, although in a high tide you have to cross the sea, on the right side (in the west) of it is a beach with a ferocious sea. So it's too dangerous to play water sports there. And you will see rough waves, hear the roar of the waves. Whereas, on the left side (in the east) is a beach with a tranquil sea.

A local man whom i talked to said that Drini beach, which is still natural, supported, mainly by non-governmental efforts or local society, is the only one that offers visitors with canoeing experience, a recreational activity which involves paddling a canoe. And you can rent a canoe at IDR 50,000 for as long as you want. It means you can use it from morning until afternoon. Moreover, you can order and have seafood and young coconut while gazing the beauty of Drini beach under a shady big umbrella available on the beach.
