Krakal Beach and Sarangan Beach, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta

Krakal Beach

If you feel bored with your small aquarium and want to see a natural one. Why don't you go to Krakal beach, where you will be satisfied with a marine reef aquarium.

Krakal, one of many beautiful coasts in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta, is a well known tourism site for its fine sand and wonderful view.

During holidays, travelers flock in this beach for it's easy to get there and it has enough facilities, such as gazebos, food stalls and accomodations.
The breeze of fresh sea air from the south sea accompanies your stroll along the lovely beach, which is bordered by two coral cliffs, or you can sit on a gazebo facing to Krakal beach while listening to the natural orchestra of sea waves.

If you want to see the beauty of Krakal beach from a high place, you can climb up to Jujugan hill where you will pass through very close Sarangan beach (just next to Krakal beach), with its iconic fish is really amazing place to take photos from up there.

Sarangan Beach

Sarangan beach, situated next to Krakal beach, just few minutes walk from that beach, is considered as a less famous beach in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Province, since there is nothing much we can do there, so, the beach isn't crowded.
However, if you are already in Krakal beach and if you are curious about Sarangan beach, if you go there, you can, at least, see some small fish swimming around rocks.

When i was there, i saw some people exploring the beach, although it was so hot for there are only few sea pandanus in the beach, but there are some gazebos, and two boys were trying to catch some fish with a small fishing net, two women were swimming in the middle of rocks (never do it in a high tide, it's very dangerous)

Before leaving this beach, a little exercise by walking up to the top of Jujugan hill (it's nearby), although i saw some people rode motorcycles up there, but actually is forbidden, where you will see an iconic fish and a beautiful view of Sarangan beach.
