Why you should visit Top Selfie "Hutan Pinus" Kragilan

If you wonder why so many people love selfie or love having their photos taken, you may come and get the answer here at Top Selfie Kragilan.

Top Selfie Kragilan, which has been trending recently, is in a pine forest (called by the locals as "hutan pinus" or "pinusan") in Kragilan, Pakis, Magelang Regency. It lies on the slope of mount Merbabu, so it is cool, and if you intent to go there, especially on a sunny day, you will see the graceful mount Merbabu.

According to Suroto, a local person whom i met, this place used to be an ordinary pine forest owned by Magelang District Government.
The story began two years ago, in 2015, when some teenagers came to have selfie and then uploaded their images to share on a social network like instagram and facebook.
The increasing popularity of this pine forest on social network as a new selfie spot has drawn many visitors to come to this place, and this is very important to bring the positive change to local people social life, who majority were farmers. Presently they earn money by providing facilities, such as selfie spots, food stalls, a parking area (motor cycle at IDR 3,000/car at IDR 10k) and there are 28 local photographers as well who will take your best photos for only IDR 2,500/each photo which will be sent via bluetooth to your smartphone.

These are some selfie spots you can choose for IDR 5,000/each where you can have selfie as many as you wish.

In the next two years, Magelang District Government will have managed this place to make it better. And we hope the government still accomodates the local people, for they have promoted, looked after, managed and got extra daily income from this place.
