Brief history of Grand Maerakaca

This miniature park, used to be called Puri Maerakaca, was inaugurated in 1993 by Central Java Governor. The name's derived from Mahabarata epic story about a princess  who had a desire to possess a beautiful garden.
In the beginning, Puri Maerakaca was popular among tourists and it was considered as the perfect tourist attraction in Semarang before it left behind by its visitors for some reasons, until its name changed to Grand maerakaca to present a different and a good brand image (rebranding), and added more vacilities, including mangrove trekking, which now successfully, attract more visitors.

Met an old friend at Banyumas Regency Pavilion

I was really surprised and absolutely delighted when i, accidentally, met my old friend, Eko Ismantoro, after hadn't met each other for a long time, since we graduated, we were at a same college, Tourism Academy, in Bendan Ngisor, Sampangan, Semarang.
The story likes this. I decided to write about Central Java Miniature Park, Grand Maerakaca, for my blog, after seeing its stunning photos in Titah Listiorini's Instagram. She was, formerly, our lecture, taught us French at the college. And now she is the Director of PRPP, including Grand Maerakaca. Unfortunately, i didn't meet her. If i had met her i would had said, "bonjour madame! Comment allez vous?"
When i was about to enter a clean traditional house at Banyumas Regency Pavilion, a friendly man welcomed me with his hospitality, we talked, not long until we recognized each other that we both, actually studied at a same college in the past. It's really surprising, Eko Ismantoro, i was so delighted to meet you, then we involved in a deep conversation. He even gaved me free CDs, a booklet as well as brochures about tourist attractions in both Purbalingga Regency and Banyumas Regency.
Eko works as a civil servant. He, together with his wife and two daughters, lives behind Purbalingga Regency Pavilion. His main responsibility is to promote Banyumas Regency and its tourist attractions (it's a region where i was born). I'm extremely glad to promote it too.
Thank you very much Eko Ismantoro and family for your kindness. Hope to see you again next time. CU.

Soup made from chicken/beef stock, eaten with compressed rice cake, then you can choose chicken, beef or tripe (optional), add rice vermicelli, sliced spring onion, soy sauce, fried shallot, crackers of red kanji and chili sauce. Then, what makes Soto Sokaraja different with others? We add peanut sauce. (in my opinion, this makes Soto Sokaraja taste special)

Banyumas Palm Sugar

I believe most people will not refuse to be offered "Es Cendol" (Indonesian drink made from rice flour served with coconut milk, palm sugar and ice cubes), but, don't they realize that make the "Es Cendol" tastes delicious is the palm sugar.
Banyumas Regency is renowned as the producer of the finest palm sugar in Indonesia. The palm sugar is distributed within the country and exported to overseas as well.

Mangrove Trekking

The most favorite ride at Grand Maerakaca is mangrove trekking. It's a nice to walk along bamboo walkways surrounded by a milkfish pond, especially after the dusk when lights have been lighted up. Its romantic atmosphere attract many visitors, especially teenagers to spend more time here.
Soon, when it's getting dark, about twilight, i did mangrove trekking through a bamboo walkway next to the mangrove trees. The walkway was about two meters in width. I saw many people, especially teenagers with their own activities, sitting, walking, taking photos, chatting and laughing. They looked so cheerful, while on the milkfish pond i could see some people boating around the pond and looked so excited as well.
On the other side, the silent love bridge with its cafe witnessed its customers who absolutely enjoyed their time having food and drink in the wonderful night shade with little lights.
