A Hindu Temple Complex which has length of 190 meters and width of 30 meters, Cetho Temple, nestled at the elevation of 1496 meters above the sea level on the slope of majestic mount Lawu. So far, it's still used by Hindus for doing religious practices.

Karanganyar is one of Regencies in Central Java Province, Indonesia which has renowned tourist attractions both natural beauties and historical sites. Cetho Temple, located in Cetho Village, Jenawi Sub-district, is the one you shouldn't miss when you intent to visit a historical site in a panoramic and green environment.

Cetho Temple was built in the reign of Majapahit Kingdom, but is has different structures if compared with the other Hindu temples in Java. In my opinion, it looks like a Hindu Shrine in Bali and when I was there I could smell incense as well.
The rule  to dress properly before entering this temple and the other temples as well is a must, and also visitors have to wear "kampuh clothes", small black and white square fabric which are already there near the ticket counter then giving a small donation is obliged. While the entry ticket is IDR 7k (USD 0.55) for the local and IDR 25k (USD 1.85) for foreign tourist.

Cetho Temple is truly worth a visit, you will feel a Balinese atmosphere there, especially if  you are lucky and encounter some Hindus preparing or doing their religious practices. Although it's as a tourist attraction, visitors are advisable to honour other believe.
