Grojogan Sewu Waterfall, Tawangmangu: Are you a big monkey fan?


If you are a big monkey fan, a trip to "Grojogan Sewu" while travelling to Karanganyar Regency should be put on your to-do-list. As it can be a memorable experience to visit "Hutan Wisata" (tourism forest) "Grojogan Sewu" which is famed with its tame monkeys.

Grojogan Sewu, a waterfall with a height of 81 meters nestled on the slope of mount Lawu, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, Indonesia is within the complex of "Hutan Wisata" (tourism forest) "Grojogan Sewu" which occupy the total area of 20 hectares. The forest is also inhabited by tame monkeys.

You may encounter some monkeys since from the parking area, roaming around and even sitting on visitor's cars. I don't know exactly the total number of the monkeys in "Grojogan Sewu", but they are kind of macaques which are commonly introduce in many tourist attractions to boost their tourist figures.


We may agree that monkeys have some special characters which can not be found in other animals and they also have a great skill in climbing. Therefore, monkeys become common animals that  always exist in each zoo. So, the existence of monkey in "Grojogan Sewu" can really improve the popularity of this tourist attraction to get more visitors, as long as the management can control the population of those monkeys in ideal number.

However, you should be careful although they look adorable and cute, the monkeys are animals that can be suddenly aggressive and take or steal your food and drinks and my harm you.
