Who Dare to Refuse "Mie Ayam Bakso"?

Arisarmu  - Undoubtedly, the two most popular dishes for Indonesians are meatballs and chicken noodles. This perception may inspire some business enthusiasts to open Mie Ayam Bakso stalls and these cuisines without any doubt are suitable for most people.

If you are asked about Indonesian dishes that are appropriate to be eaten during both rainy day or sunny day and when the weather is hot or cold. We may all respond with these foods: Bakso (meatballs) and Mie Ayam (chicken noodles). The evidence of this opinion is as street foods, they are easy to be found almost everywhere from wandering sellers, either who use push-carts or ride motorbikes, those who settle on sidewalks and even who have permanent stalls. They are loved by many Indonesians from all levels of society and ages; children, teenagers and even elderly people.

The main ingredients of Mie Ayam Bakso are chicken, noodles, mustard green, meatballs, sliced spring onion, fried shallot, broth and other condiments to make it tasty and savoury. And you may add chili paste, soy sauce and tomato ketchup to enhance its flavour to be more delicious. The food can accommodate people who love both Bakso and Mie Ayam and enable them to have two dishes in one single bowl.

In Salatiga, a small town where I live, Mie Ayam Bakso is unquestionably well-liked by its citizens. Almost everywhere you can find it. At least, there are five Mie Ayam Bakso stalls along the street near my home. And one of them which I think the most delicious of all, it's just IDR 11K (USD 0.75) per portion. It's quite cheap, isn't it?
