Umbul Senjoyo Tegalwaton - Natural Spring Water

Tegalwaton village is blessed with tremendous source of natural springs. So it's no wonder that this area becomes an important water source as well as a popular tourist attraction. And the most renowned one is Umbul Senjoyo.

This local spring is nestled in District of Tengaran, Semarang Regency, Central Java. However, it's only 2.4 km from Tingkir Bus Station of Salatiga City.

Umbul is a Javanese word which means spring, while Senjoyo is a name derived from Arya Senjoyo who once led Pajang Kingdom in the past.

The water here is clear and fresh, but it has to be boiled first before being used as drinking water. There are some springs here. The water flows profusely from underground every day. 

The local community uses the water for daily chores. And Indonesian Regional Water Utility Company (PDAM) also distributes water from here to Salatiga City through a long pipe. 

Serving as a water reserve, Umbul Senjoyo is a nice place for disconnect from your busy city life with its cool air, and the sound of the water flow is relaxing. Visitors can have food and drinks at simple eateries. 

No entry fee, you only pay for parking.
