Arisarmu - Sate Rembiga (Rembiga satay) is a mouth-watering food from Lombok. After being marinated to add flavor, the beef then skewered onto bamboo skewers and grilled over hot charcoal. Arguably, it is one of the most delicious satay I've ever had.
Indonesia is rich in various types of satay in each region. Even in Lombok, this touristy island has several types of satay besides Sate Rembiga. They are also delicious. Such as Sate Tanjung, Sate Bulayak , Sate Pusut and Sate Pencok.
Rembiga takes a name from a village in Mataram where some locals sell Sate Rembiga at their warungs. The satay served without dressing. But the spices have seeped into the tender meat. It's a combination of savory, sweet and spicy.
One day, my wife's younger sister, Wulan, who works at a hotel in Gili Trawangan visited us. She brought us Sate Rembiga. It was the first time I ate it. The satay was really delicious. Thank you Wulan.
