The Beauty of Cinta Hill Rawa Pening

Bukit Cinta ( Cinta Hill ), a green hill presents a panoramic view of magnificent Rawa Pening,  is one of the most interesting places to be visited in Semarang Regency for those who seek pleasure away from daily routins.

Bukit Cinta Rawa Pening,  located in Kebondowo Village,  Banyubiru District,  Semarang Regency, opens daily from 7 am to 5 pm, and for entrance fee each visitor pays at IDR 6,000 on weekday, and at IDR 7,500 on holidays.

Bukit Cinta,  a romantic name,  derived from young couples in love who had visited this hill,  is a suitable excursion spot as its shady cool hill equipped with children's playground,  some observation posts and a big "Pendopo", a large covered veranda,  which can be rent at IDR 250,000.

During Satu Sura,  the first day of the Javanese calendar year in the month of Sura, farmers and fishermen from four Sub-districts,  Banyubiru,  Tuntang,  Ambarawa and Bawen gather to do a ritual called "Larung Sesaji" or "Sedekah Rawa" (offering to the lake)  by boating to the middle of Rawa Pening,  accompanied by music of sacred gamelan ensemble and throw "Tumpeng Megana" and "Tumpeng Agung" (the offerings)  into the lake as a symbol of gratefulness  since they make a living from the lake.  The ritual has lasted from generation to generation.

In addition,  there is a small dock basement for adventurers who want to voyage around the lake by boat, and pay just at IDR 60,000 per boat for maximum 6 people.  It's really exciting exploring the beauty of Rawa Pening.
