It's no secret that Goa Rong has enchanted many visitors with its amazing Rawa Pening view surrounded by hills and mountains, as you can see mount Merbabu, Ungaran, Telomoyo, Sindoro and Sumbing stand sturdily as they reassure you not to blink in a second. It's really picturesque.
Goa Rong, located in Delik village, Tuntang sub-district, Semarang regency, is at the elevation of 998 meters above sea level. It was built by Provincial Government Company (Perusahaan Daerah Citra Mandiri Jawa Tengah) after knowing its potential as a tourism site.
The road to the Rong hill presents you with lovely plantation, however, the sensation of cool weather should not eliminate your concentration while driving up the hill since the road is winding and small. It's necessary for you to sound the horn anytime you are on the curved road.

On the top of the hill, there are facilities available, such as a parking lot, a restaurant, a praying room (mushola), children's playground, some gazebos, and then the famous Goa Rong view spot where you can gaze the superb lake Rawa Pening. Finally, if you want to take a little adventure, you can walk down to Goa Rong (Rong Cave), but, hang on, you can exchange your entrance ticket (entrance fee at IDR 5,000 on weekday/at IDR 10k on holidays) with a glass of coffee caramel which coffee beans harvested from this area, lead you experience the sensation of the low acidity and high bitterness of Robusta coffee which its origin in central and western sub-saharan Africa.

Walking down the stairs to Goa Rong is quite challenging, but you should be careful, to prevent slip and fall down, for the walk way is narrow, steep and without any single handle. However, on the way to the cave you will see a beautiful landscape.
Goa Rong, reassured as a meditating place for saintly people in the past, is actually a small cave, so if you want to enter it, you should kneel down.
