Indonesian Railway Museum-Ambarawa


Indonesian Railway Museum, which used to be called Willem 1 Railway Station, located in a small historical town Ambarawa in central Java was built by the Dutch Colonial Government on May 21, 1873 as a military transportation hub around this province.
After being inaugurated by Central Java Governor on April 8, 1976, the museum, with its collection of steam locomotives, popularly known as Ambarawa Railway Museum.


The museum, can be reached around 1 hour drive from Semarang, should be your priority to visit if you've never been there. You can see the beautiful old architecture of the station, old trains and other historical things related to the operation of the train.
Spending your holiday by train tours with two different destinations, Ambarawa - Tuntang rute takes you to explore lake Rawa Pening and Tuntang River right outside your window, while Ambarawa - Bedono rute allows you to admire scenery of hills, mount Ungaran and mount Merbabu.

Only on Sundays and National holidays
Departure times : at 10 a.m, 12 noon and 2 p.m
