Pancuran Telu and Pancuran Pitu, Natural Sulfur Spring-Baturraden

The variety of different minerals found in "Pancuran Telu" and "Pancuran Pitu" hot springs attract the curiosity of many people, so they are eager to visit these natural wonders.

Baturraden Tourist Resort has many interesting spots to be offered to its visitors.
It has a waterfall, Baturraden Natural Theatre, Natural Cascade, Botanical Garden and more.
But the most wonderful places in Baturraden are "Pancuran Telu" (three hot springs) and "Pancuran Pitu" (seven hot springs).

"Pancuran Telu" and "Pancuran Pitu", situated on the slope of mount Slamet which is the biggest mount in Java island. Their natural hot springs contain sulfur and other essential minerals which believed provide therapeautic to some health problems, such as increase blood flow, solve skin problems, relieve muscle pain and tightness and as a way of relaxation when you soak in a hot spring that will relieve stress and encourage better sleep.

Pancuran Telu

"Pancuran Telu" which is located near Gumawang Waterfall is prominent among tourists who wish to experience hot sulfur bath without walking too far to arrive at the location, if compare to "Pancuran Pitu", which unquestionably require more energy to get there, since its location ("Pancuran Telu") within the complex of "Lokawisata Baturraden".
An entrance fee for IDR 13k (USD 1) is compulsory if you want to enter "Pancuran Telu". And you may be surprised when you arrive there (during holiday and weekends) that you will see many people.
When i was at "Pancuran Telu", i saw many visitors with their own activities. In the first pond there were three men immersing their bodies while day dreaming i thought, and the second pond there were some women submerging their bodies as well. While other people, both male and female, were having their arms, legs or bodies massaged with sulfur by local masseurs.
I didn't have my body massaged because it was already at 3pm and i had to go to "Pancuran Tujuh". But if you want to have your arms and legs massaged with sulfur you just need to pay for IDR 30k (USD 2.25) and IDR 40k (USD 3) if whole body.

Pancuran Pitu

If you are fond of doing an adventure, you can head to "Pancuran Pitu" from "Lokawisata Baturraden", you merely need to walk for 2.5 km through Baturraden pine forest.
This indeed reminds me to the past when i was still a kid.
Once sunny morning on holiday, some elder boys in my neighborhood invited several younger girls and boys, including me, to hike up to "Pancuran Pitu" from the downtown of Purwokerto where we lived. It's approximately 17 km. However, we didn't walk through a common way, we did a little bit adventure by crossing paddy fields. I think you can imagine, Indonesia rice terrace is so wonderful, especially when the rice is so ripe with its golden color and the mighty mount Slamet was waiting for our visit looked so amazing from distance, and we continued walking through villager's gardens then entered Baturraden pine forest, and the most important thing, we could enter both "Lokawisata Baturraden" and "Pancuran Pitu" for free because we didn't enter those locations through the entrance gates, hahaha....
Anyway, if you don't want to walk from "Lokawisata Baturraden" to "Pancuran Pitu" or directly want to visit the seven sulfur springs, you can get there either by motorcycle or car through Baturraden Camping Ground and you are required to pay at the entrance gate for IDR 23k (USD 1.75). This fee including for visiting "Telaga Sunyi", "Kebun Raya Baturraden" (botanical garden) and others.
From here, you need to drive for 5 km to "Pancuran Pitu" parking area and its front gate.

After parking your vehicle, you start walking down stairs to "Pancuran Pitu". This absolutely much easier than it used to be. I remember when i was a kid, the only option to get there was on foot. Then a few years later, the road access to this spot was built. Sometimes i don't realize that time has gone fast. Although still fresh in my memory that we ever took a foreign tourist (if i'm not forget, he was from New Zealand) to "Pancuran Pitu" and "Goa Selirang" (Selirang Cave).
Honestly, this hot sulfur spring is the most impressive among other tourist spots within Baturraden complex with its natural wonder.
At "Pancuran Pitu", i met "bu Darso" with her friends again (first i met them at "Lokawisata Baturraden"). Here i had my legs and arms massaged with sulfur. It quite relieved my legs' muscles. The legs or arms massage is only at IDR 10k (USD 0.75).

Goa Selirang

You should visit "Goa Selirang" (Selirang Cave), but never expect you will explore inside a dark cave, whose hot water obtained from "Pancuran Pitu". It's only a few minutes walk down. Otherwise you will be upset.
Here, you will be amazed with its beauty. Then satisfy yourself with a lot of photos until you forget that you are not a teenager anymore..hahaha.
It's ok. Just enjoy your holiday here in Baturraden complex which is the best tourist attraction in Banyumas Regency. And you may not get it in other regencies.

Keep smiling
