So if you're planning a trip to Lombok and choose to stay in Senggigi as your home base where it connects you to all amazing tourist attractions on the island and surrounding region. This is already done by many travellers.
After the Indonesian island of Lombok was rocked by hundreds of quakes and tremors in 2018 which killed hundreds of people and destroyed many buildings. This paradise island suffered for losing tourists that effect to the local people who lost their jobs and income due to the natural disaster, particularly those whose jobs related to tourism. However, Senggigi seems to recover quicker compared to three Gili islands--Trawangan, Meno and Air.
Senggigi is a home of a famous tourist resort, Senggigi Beach, and it offers an array of hotels, bars and restaurants with a wide options of cuisines and other tourist supporting facilities available along Senggigi Road, such as travel agents and motorbike rentals. On a bright afternoon, I was riding a motorcycle on Senggigi Road in the tourist town that never sleeps at night where cafes and local bars are open until late. Tourism industry really plays a major role in Lombok's economic development.
I stopped by at a minimarket to buy two pieces of bread -- Strawberry Jam-filled bread and Peanut Butter-filled bread. I had them while sitting on a plastic chair available in front of the shop. They were enought to release my hunger and for the drinks I'd already brought a bottle of mineral water and a bottle of lemonade.
Initially, I was confused to find the location of Senggigi beach as the sign to get there was unclear, so I asked to a hotel security officer whom I met and he told me that the way to the beach was next to big sign of Kila Hotel on the main road.
I rode approximately 300 meters from the main road until I arrived at the beach and parked the motorcycle. The parking fee was IDR 2.000 (USD 0.15). Walking toward the beach I passed a few stalls offering the renowned souvenirs.

There is a harbour on the beach which operates daily. From here you can travel to many destinations. Therefore, even though there are many beautiful resorts in Lombok, Senggigi is still popular as a home base for travellers who want to take a trip around Lombok and Gili islands. While for the others, especially the locals, Senggigi beach is a nice place for spending their leisure times.
