Watu Kodok Beach : A beauty beside a frog-shaped rock


Watu Kodok beach Known as an undeveloped beach, means it has less man-made infrastructure which i saw only a parking lot and a food stall. However, you can have fun, play along the beach and take some good pictures here.


Watu Kodok beach, a name derived from a frog-shaped rock, located in Kemadang Village, Tanjung Sari Sub-district, Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta, is a natural small beach forgotten by many people due to the lack of its facilities and a broken road to get into the beach, but it still provides satisfaction to visitors for its superb landscape.

Taking wonderful photos isn't just about having a nice camera. Here you can explore and find out the best angles to find great photos. This lovely light brown sandy beach, sea waves and the frog-shaped rock are really good photo spots.

If you're interested to view the beach from a higher place you can walk up a hill beside the beach, you can see perfect landscape from up there. However, some visitors had made this hill dirty by leaving garbage anywhere. Please, keep this lovely beach clean for all our benefits.
