Do You Like Fried Cassava?

Perhaps you have your own favorite as fried cassava can be sprinkled with either chocolate rice or cheese. They are influenced by western culture. It means many Indonesians expect more or a better taste from their local dishes, including this former staple food during Dutch colonial era as rice was taken away by invaders.

Some people also like to consume cassava leaves as they are nutritious and taste delicious after being seasoned and cooked into certain type of foods. However, if you want to get the best quality of cassava which gives the perfect taste, when you plant the trees, you shouldn't take their leaves. Unless you know how to do it. Someone ever told me that we actually can take the leaves as long as just a few each part of the plant but not at the top part.

To reduce the fat for better health, some people prefer steaming cassava to frying. This cooking method is also popular one, although I like fried cassava better than steamed cassava. How about yourself?
