Aci is a local name for starch. The bite-sized Cilok is made from starch. Then you add water and make into small balls and they are boiled. When you bite Cilok, it tastes chewy.
The best way to enjoy Cilok, when it is still warm, so the sellers always put boiled Cilok in a steamer basket. Otherwise no one want to buy it.
One day my wife made Cilok for us. You can see the picture above. Homemade is also delicious or even is more succulent if make it properly. Follow the recipe and of course use with a creativity. Warm Cilok is served with peanut sauce, tomato ketchup, soy sauce on it, and sambal or chili paste if you like spicy. It will be perfect.
