On my way home to Ampenan from somewhere (I forget as it happened about ten months ago or two weeks before the severe earthquake hit Lombok). I accidentally found a row of warungs on the roadside in Loang Baloq, Mataram which sold grilled fish. I ordered grilled Tongkol (Macharel Tuna) and grilled Baronang (Rabbit fish). They were served with hot chili sauce.

I also saw a warung selling Nasi Puyung while I was riding a scooter on jalan Raya Senggigi. The delicious Nasi Puyung was consisted of rice, spicy chicken, srundeng (sauteed grated coconut), fried soy beans, fried egg and bakwan jagung (corn fritters).

One sunny day after gathering at my sister in law's home (Wulan) in Pemenang, North Lombok with my brother in law (Fajar) and his wife (Minah) and daughter (Intan). Not long after Fajar and his wife had gone home to Ampenan, Mataram. Then Intan and I decided to go back to Ampenan as well. Most of my days in Lombok I stayed with them. Thank you for the kindness. The distance from Pemenang to Ampenan is about 33 km, and it takes one hour drive. We decided to pass through Jalan Raya Senggigi-Pemenang and had a short stop on Malimbu Hill to see beautiful scenery from up there.

Prior to arrive at Intan's home. It's on Jalan Raya Senggigi. On the left side I read a banner written 'Rumah Makan Taliwang'. We stopped by at that restaurant. Then we each ordered a set menu of rice, ayam Taliwang (chicken Taliwang) and plecing kangkung (water spinach with hot chili paste).
In conclusion, a culinary tourism was my second priority after I visited a tourist destination. How about yourself?
